HP ENVY 6055 All-In-One Inkjet Printer
HP ENVY 6055 is an Inkjet All-In-One Printer that allows you to print, scan, and copy documents for all your home and office needs. It offers high-quality color printing with a resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi and a tricolor ink system that provides sharp photos and text for all your documents.
The printer offers print speeds of up to 10 ppm in black and 7 ppm in color as well as an automatic duplex. In addition, the printer also features a 100-sheet paper tray to easily handle various media from 3 x 5″ to 8.5 x 11.7″ sizes. Scanning and copying are also provided by the 8.5 x 11.7″ flatbed scanner unit, and the ENVY 6055 has an optical resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi for scanning sharp images and accurate colors.
With the existing networked HP Smart App, you can easily print, scan, and copy directly from your smartphone. Plus, with support for Apple AirPrint and Mopria, you can work quickly and easily with almost any device right in your home.
ENVY 6055 also qualifies for the HP Instant Ink Program which for a small monthly fee, allows users to automatically have their printer notify HP when it is running low. This system can guarantee that you will always have cartridges ready to use and prevents you from continuously monitoring ink levels. The following is a review of the test results we conducted on the Hp ENVY 6055 All-In-One Printer.
Dimensions
The HP ENVY 6055 is an all-in-one printer that is quite compact and doesn’t take up much space on your desk.
- Height: 5.1″ (13.0 cm)
- Width: 17.1″ (43.5 cm)
- Depth: 14.2″ (36.1 cm)
- Weight: 11.5 lbs (5.2 kg)
Build & Design Quality
The printer has good build quality. The plastic body feels sturdy, and the power cord can be removed if you need to replace it.
The input tray has a slider to adjust the photo width, but this does not extend to legal-size paper, and there is no dedicated photo tray.
It is very easy to remove the cartridge, as you only need to remove it, but the printer must be on when you want to replace the ink.
You can access jammed paper by lifting the scanner flat, which can fall quickly and hard if you do not orient it down slowly.
The scanned cover doesn’t lift enough for thicker items like books. And the printer offers audible feedback after completing a task, which is a great feature.
Display Screen
The printer has no display screen. But there are five touch buttons that light up in different colors, and you can complete different tasks with these buttons, such as starting a copy session or canceling a print job.
There is also a display for the number of copies required when you copy documents. And the printer has various indicator lights to let you know if there are printing errors or running out of paper and ink, as well as Wi-Fi status lights.
Scanner
ENVY 6055 has mediocre scanning features. They only have flatbed scanners and don’t support duplex scanning, so if you need to scan a double-sided document you’ll have to scan each side manually.
Cartridge
This HP 6055 has a bad cartridge system. They last long in neither black nor color cartridges, and you will have to replace them frequently. However, this all-in-one printer still has a higher page yield. Apart from that, there are high-yield cartridges that you can buy if you want to get higher yields.
This printer also accepts third-party cartridges, but using them may invalidate your product warranty.
Printing Speed
Similar to the HP ENVY 5014, this 6055 printer has a slow print speed. They are not fast at printing color or black and white pages and take a while to print photos. The output tray holds up to 25 sheets of paper at a time.
Cost Per Print
The ENVY 6055 has a very disappointing cost per print. Ink cartridges are cheap, but because of their low page yield, you should buy new ones regularly if you print frequently, and they can add up quickly. You can sign up for a subscription to HP’s Instant Ink so you will automatically receive new cartridges when your ink runs out.
Keep in mind that even if you are printing in black only, most inkjets will continue to use color cartridges for service tasks, so you may still need to replace them eventually.
Photo Printing Quality
The HP 6055 has good photo printing quality. The colors are well defined, and there are lots of details. Unfortunately, the tone is a bit flat and the black isn’t deep. There are also a few bands in grayscale, but they are not very visible in the photo.
Color Accuracy
The printer has incredible color accuracy. This works great if you are printing a color presentation, but it may not be good enough for jobs that require perfect color accuracy.
Printing Size
ENVY 6055 has only one input tray which supports the most common paper sizes, but not legal sizes. Unfortunately, you cannot print 2″ x 3″ photos.
Connectivity
The HP ENVY 6055 has quite a few connectivity options, much like the HP ENVY 5055. Unfortunately, you can’t print from USB or SD cards, and it doesn’t have an Ethernet port. On the bright side, you can connect it to your computer with a cable via a USB connection or wirelessly via Wi-Fi.
Mobile Print App
The printer supports the HP Smart App which has amazing features. You can perform maintenance tasks, such as cleaning the printheads, and you can order new cartridges. You can also scan documents from your device’s camera and print photos and PDF files.
