They are almost as big as some of the larger color laser multifunction printers we have reviewed, and significantly, these are bigger than the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3720. It will be difficult if you enter a small dormitory. It’s also very heavy, so it might not be suitable for use on a glass table.

- Weight: 48.9 lbs (22.2 kg)
Build & Design Quality
Although it is mostly made of plastic, the Epson WorkForce WF-7720 still feels very well built and very well designed. The paper output tray feels very sturdy and can be adjusted in various sizes depending on what you are printing.
Even more vulnerable parts, such as the two input trays and the automatic document feeder (ADF) are quite solid. Paper jams are also very easy to handle – there is a special place at the back to access paper jams when printing, and the ADF cover will open to clear any jams when scanning.
However, on the downside, it might be frustrating to access the cartridge if you are in a hurry because this printer needs to be turned on and set to the “ink replacement” option in the menu first. It might also be difficult to understand the placement of the scanner lid.
Display Screen
Epson WorkForce WF-7720 has a very good display. This large touch screen provides feedback that can be heard when tapping. The icons are very easy to understand and the text is clear. You can tilt the screen console up for better screen visibility whether you are sitting or standing, but it is difficult to see from the side.
The home and info buttons that surround the screen on the touch panel are conveniently placed, although the back/exit buttons on the screen itself are rather small. There is a physical button on the right side of the screen, this is for managing print jobs, and there is also a physical keypad for faxing.
Cartridge
The Epson WF-7720 also has a decent inkjet cartridge system. There are three separate color cartridges, so you only need to replace the ones you use the most. Their combined page results are also quite good. Unfortunately, black cartridge performance is a bit disappointing.
Fortunately, if you run out of black ink during a print job, the printer will ask to use a black photo or color cartridge to complete the active job. There are also high-capacity and extra-high capacity black cartridge versions, which should last longer.
The WF-7720 printer also accepts third-party cartridges, but this can void the warranty, and special attention must be paid because this printer uses pigment-based inks.
Scanner
This device has amazing scanning features. The WF-7720 has a flatbed and sheetfed scanner with an automatic document feeder (ADF), and both can scan tabloid (11″ x 17″) documents. The ADF even supports duplex scanning up to 11″ x 17″, which is quite impressive for commercial printers.
Printing Speed
The printing speed of the Epson WorkForce WF-7720 is not a problem. They need time to print ordinary documents both in color or only black and white. However, the photos of the prints quickly enough. In addition, there are two paper trays, each containing about 250 sheets, so you can print briefly before you need to add more paper.
Photo Printing Quality
The Epson WorkForce WF-7720 has good photo print quality. The color is bright and yellow has a good tone of voice, but the picture has a lot of colors, and there is a border on the grayscale.
Color Accuracy
Epson WF-7720 has a disappointing color accuracy. But this won’t be a problem if you only print documents for use around the house, or want to add a color tinge to the report. However, it is not sufficient if your work depends on detailed and accurate color printing.
Cost Per Print
The Epson WF-7720 has very good printing costs per print. Ink is a bit expensive, but because you don’t have to replace the cartridge too often, printing costs remain low.
Printing Size
This printer is quite remarkable because it can print on almost all common paper formats. There are two input trays on the front – one for plain or photo paper and one for plain paper. There are also back inputs for special paper, such as envelopes or labels.
Connectivity
Epson WF-7720 has excellent connectivity features. You can set it up with your home Wi-Fi router both wirelessly and via Ethernet. If you are not within the range of a router, you can directly connect to it with Wi-Fi Direct.
Even though you don’t have Bluetooth, you can print from your mobile device with AirPrint or Mopria Print Services. You can even print files from a USB stick.
Mobile Print App
The Epson iPrint App is very good. You can print, scan, and copy directly from the application, and retrieve documents from your mobile camera. You can also check ink levels, perform maintenance tasks such as firmware updates or printhead cleaning, and order new cartridges.
