Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3730 Inkjet All-in-One Printer
Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3730 is an Inkjet All-in-One Printer from Epson that will assist you in handling various important tasks with print, scan, copy, and fax functions. By using PrecisionCore technology, Pro WF-3730 users will enjoy sharp print results with resolutions up to 4800 x 2400 dpi and incredible speeds up to 20 ppm in black and 10 ppm in color.
Various different document sizes will be easy to handle starting from a 3.5 x 5″ card to an 8.5 x 47.2″ banner. This printer is also capable of automatic duplex printing and built-in Wi-Fi features with NFC for direct connections to mobile devices where users can connect using Wi-Fi Direct, Apple AirPrint, and others.
This Epson WF-3730 printer has several ways of handling media, including two 250-sheet standard input trays and 35-sheet ADF. Apart from that, it also comes with an 8.5 x 11.7″ flatbed scanner and can handle scanning, copying, and sending faxes up to 8.5 x 14″ from the ADF.
The scanning unit has an optical resolution of 1200 dpi, this ensures sharp images and copies are produced. For ease of use, the WF-3730 also features a 2.7″ color touch screen, which allows fast and intuitive operation. There is also a USB port facing forward so that users can directly install a flash drive to print and scan. In addition, the printer still has a USB 2.0 and Ethernet connection for those who prefer cable management.
The following are the results of the tests we conducted in various fields to find out how great this type of Epson printing machine is.
Dimensions
The Epson WF-3730 is quite high thanks to the scanner and the additional input tray. This is similar to the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025, but it is slightly lighter.
- Height: 12.8″ (32.5 cm)
- Width: 16.7″ (42.4 cm)
- Depth: 15.4″ (39.1 cm)
- Weight: 24.5 lbs (11.1 kg)
Build & Design Quality
The Epson Workforce Pro WF-3730 has a sturdy and exceptional building quality. The power cord can be removed, making it easy to replace if it is damaged. The printer includes two input trays, both of which can be expanded to accommodate legal-size paper. Both also include long and wide sliders, but only one tray supports 4″ x 6″.
Additionally, you can actually lift the output tray from the first input tray to see the inside during the printing process. This can give you a better idea of how many pages are left to print or see where there might be paper jams. Unfortunately, the printer needs to be turned on so you can replace the ink.
Display Screen
Epson Pro-WF-3730 has a very good screen display. It’s easy to see whether you stand or sit thanks to its vertical tilt and sharp resolution. This menu is easy to navigate and includes three touch buttons (ink, WiFi, and sound). There are also instructional videos that play on the display screen to help give users more information about how to replace paper, ink cartridges, and perform some other tasks.
Cartridge
The Epson Workforce Pro WF-3730 has a decent four-cartridge system. They have good color page results but bad black page results. Also, when the black ink is low, the printer will ask if you want to make a black composite using other colors to finish the job.
Scanner
This Epson printer has impressive scanning features. Unfortunately, that doesn’t include the ability to do duplex scanning, and the scanning cover doesn’t go up too much to load larger items. If you need a scanner that can be adjusted for textbooks or larger documents, consider choosing the Brother HL-L2390DW.
Printing Speed
The Epson WF-3730 has impressive printing speeds. However, it is much faster when printing black-only text documents compared to color. With two input trays, it can hold a lot of paper for large printing jobs. If you need faster color printing, consider choosing OfficeJet Pro 9025.
Photo Printing Quality
Workforce Pro WF-3730 has fine photo print quality. The color is bright and there are good details. However, the photo appears on a red-ish tone, and there are several colors on a grayscale.
Color Accuracy
Pro WF-3730 has mediocre color accuracy. This should not be a problem if you just print casually, but it is not recommended for those of you who need detailed and accurate color reproduction.
Cost Per Print
The cost per print of the Epson Workforce Pro WF-3730 is very good. With high color pages, you no longer need to replace the cartridge often, but the price is expensive, so printing in color is more expensive than printing the only black in the long run.
Remember that even if you only print in black, most inkjet printers continue to use color cartridges for service tasks, so you might still need to replace them eventually.
Connectivity
The Epson Workforce Pro WF-3730 has outstanding connectivity features. You can set it up with a wireless router either via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. It does not support Bluetooth printing but works with AirPrint and Mopria on your mobile device. You can also print USB keys.
This printer is also compatible with NFC, which means that when approaching an NFC-compatible mobile device to the printer, the printer will launch the Epson iPrint app if it has been installed.
Mobile Print App
The Epson iPrint App is extraordinary. You can print and scan directly from the application, perform maintenance or cleaning of the printheads, and easily check ink levels.
