Epson EcoTank ET-4760 All-in-One Supertank Printer
EcoTank ET-4760 is an All-in-One Wireless Inkjet Printer from Epson that allows you to print, scan, copy and send faxes.
This is a great addition to your home or small office because the EcoTank system is using a large ink container instead of a cartridge, allowing it to hold more ink and make refills more affordable. This ready-to-move and sound-activated printer come with enough ink for 7500 black prints and 6000 color prints.
The print quality is very good, with a four-color ink set and a print resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi contributing to its ability to create sharp and clear documents. For users who demand speed will also be pleased with automatic 2-sided printing and the ability to print at print speeds of up to 15 ppm in black and 8 ppm in color.
The Epson ET-4760 has a 250-sheet input tray that works with documents up to 8.5 x 14″ and the long document mode also allows media production of up to 8.5 x 47.2″. When it comes to scanning and copying, this unit has an 8.5 x 11.7″ flatbed scanner that allows scanning up to 8.5 x 14″ with ADF, and the scan resolution is an impressive 2,400 dpi.
The settings can be checked and changed quickly via the 2.4″ color touch screen, and for maximum versatility during setup, the Epson ET-4760 is equipped with USB 2.0, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Cellular printing is also possible via Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Android printing, Fire OS printing, and Mopria Print Services, and users even have the ability to print various projects and documents with voice-activated printing.
The following is a review of the results of our trials on the Epson EcoTank ET-4760 All-in-One Supertank Printer products.
Dimensions
The Epson ET-4760 is a little heavier, but they are still quite small considering it has an ADF sheetfed scanner. Supertank is also slightly prominent on one side, but it should still fit in most of your office home, or dorm room.
- Height: 9.1″ (23.1 cm)
- Width: 14.8″ (37.6 cm)
- Depth: 13.7″ (34.8 cm)
- Weight: 15.9 lbs (7.2 kg)
Build & Design Quality
From our point of view, the design of the Epson ET-4760 is not a problem. The printer’s body feels sturdy and the output tray has a good enough width. The ink level is visible and the scanner lid remains if needed. It can also be raised a little higher to scan magazines or journals but this is not enough for thicker books.
To access the super tank, you must lift not only the scanner lid but also the part under the glass. This is a bit annoying but can give you easy access to paper jams.
Display Screen
Display ET-4760 is fine. The screen is touch-sensitive and there are two physical buttons on the control panel to access the help menu and home quickly.
The screen is not very clear, but it is still quite easy to use if you look at it directly. The control panel can also rotate up and down to increase visibility whether you sit or stand. It’s hard to see the screen from the side, and there are pauses when navigating menus.
Cartridge
This printer has an excellent super tank ink system. Instead of using traditional disposable cartridges, it has four high-capacity ink tanks that you refill yourself. They hold a lot of ink and last a long time. Even if you print very regularly, so you don’t need to refill tanks often, let alone buy a new ink bottle.
Although technically you can fill super tanks with third-party ink, we don’t try it and don’t recommend doing it. Low-quality ink can damage the print head, and, unlike standard inkjet printers, ink cannot be erased if there is a problem. Using third-party supplies can also cancel your warranty.
Scanner
The Epson ET-4760 also has great scanning features. There is a flatbed scanner with good scanning resolution and color depth for photos, and a sheetfed Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) to quickly scan many documents in a row. However, you can only scan one side of your document at a time.
Printing Speed
ET-4760 also has a very good printing speed. They are able to print documents in black and white much faster than the Epson Expression ET-2750, although they are not faster at handling color documents. It also prints photos very slowly. On the upside-down, the input tray holds a fair amount of plain paper.
Cost Per Print
The cost per print of the Epson ET-4760 is very low. Ink bottles aren’t too expensive, and this printer is widely used. Even if you print very much, it will take a while before the ink costs can weaken the contents of your wallet.
Photo Printing Quality
The print quality of the ET-4760 photo is also good. Although there is good precision in the details, the color has a flat tone. The color yellow, in particular, is not very bright, and there are margins on the grayscale.
Color Accuracy
This printer has disappointing color accuracy. This should not be too much of a problem for ordinary everyday printing, but it will be a problem if you rely on good color accuracy for your work or trade.
Printing Size
The Epson EcoTank ET-3760 printer has an adjustable input tray on the front that fits the most popular paper sizes.
Connectivity
Epson ET-4760 has great connectivity features. You can set it up on your home network with your Wi-Fi router either by connecting it via Ethernet or configuring it wirelessly.
You can also use Wi-Fi Direct if you don’t have a wireless router. It does not support Bluetooth but still works with AirPrint and Mopria for mobile printing.
Mobile Print App
The Epson iPrint App is very good. You can print, scan, and copy directly from applications, perform maintenance tasks such as firmware updates or printhead cleaning, and check ink levels.
