Epson EcoTank ET-3760 All-in-One Supertank Printer
EcoTank ET-3760 is a wireless All-in-One from Epson that offers printing, scanning and copying with a super tank printer. It is a great addition to your home or small office.
The EcoTank system uses large ink tanks instead of cartridges, this allows it to hold more ink and makes refilling more affordable. This mobile, voice-activated printer is also equipped with sufficient ink for 7500 black prints and 6000 color prints.
Print quality is also very good, with a four-color ink set and a print resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi contributing to its ability to create sharp and clear documents. Speed-demanding users will also be pleased with automatic 2-sided printing and the ability to produce print speeds of up to 15 ppm in black and 8 ppm in color.
The printer has a 150-sheet input tray that works with documents up to 8.5 x 14″ and the long document mode allows media production up to 8.5 x 47.2″. For scanning and copying, this unit also has an 8.5 x 11.7″ flatbed scanner which allows scanning up to 8.5 x 14″ with the ADF, and an impressive scan resolution of 2400 dpi.
Settings can easily be checked and changed on the fly via the 2.4″ color touchscreen, and for maximum versatility during setup, the Epson ET-3760 is also equipped with USB 2.0, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Mobile printing is also possible through Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Android printing, Fire OS printing, and Mopria Print Services, and even users also have the ability to print various projects and documents with voice-activated printing. Here is a review of our test results on the ET-3760 All-in-One Supertank product from Epson.
Dimensions
The EcoTank ET-3760 printer is a bit heavy but they still have a rather small footprint. Even though the super tank protrudes slightly on one side, you should have no trouble placing it on the table.
- Height: 9.1″ (23.1 cm)
- Width: 14.8″ (37.6 cm)
- Depth: 13.7″ (34.8 cm)
- Weight: 15.9 lbs (7.2 kg)
Build & Design Quality
The ET-3760 has a light design. The plastic body feels sturdy and the ink levels are easy to see. There is also good access to jammed paper via its rear compartment. However, the top automatic document feeder feels thin and a bit fragile.
The scanner lid can also only be lifted just enough to fit a thin book so you can’t easily scan thicker books. If your ink is running low, you need to lift part of the scanner glass to reach the super tank compartment, this can be annoying.
Display Screen
Epson ET-3760 has a good display. Although the display doesn’t have a touch screen interface, it has several buttons located on both sides of the screen. This menu is very easy to navigate, but there are some pauses between entering commands. There is also no numeric keypad, so it will be a hassle when you need to enter a network password.
The display panel tilts vertically so you have good screen visibility whether you are sitting or standing. However, you might have a little trouble seeing the screen if you look at it from the side.
Scanner
EcoTank ET-3760 also has a scanning feature that is okay. There is a flatbed scanner that can help you store fragile family polaroid and sheet paper scanners with Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) to process paper documents quickly.
On the downside, if you have a double-sided document you will have to scan each side manually as they are no duplex scanning. There is also no fax, which might not be ideal for a home business. If you need fax features, check out Epson’s EcoTank ET-4700.
Cartridge
The ET-3760 super tank ink system is excellent. Instead of using removable cartridges, this printer holds four high-capacity ink tanks that you can refill yourself. Because they are designed to hold a lot of ink, the black and color tanks produce an extremely high page count before you need to refill them. Even though you always print a lot of documents, you don’t have to fill the tank often.
While you can technically fill a super tank with third-party ink, we didn’t try it and don’t recommend doing it. Low-quality ink can damage the print head, and, unlike standard inkjet printers, ink cannot be erased if there is a problem. Using third-party supplies may also void your warranty.
Printing Speed
The printer has a good print speed. Black text documents print somewhat quickly but are slightly slower at handling color documents. It takes about a minute and a half to print a 4″ x 6″ photo, which may be a bit of a wait.
Cost Per Print
The Epson EcoTank ET-3760 is a very low cost-per-print printer. Just like the Epson EcoTank ET-4760, the ink bottle is not very expensive and when combined with high page yields, black and color ink becomes very affordable for long-term use.
Photo Printing Quality
The Epson ET-3760 has good photo printing quality and all colors are well defined. However, photos have a grainy or static quality. This grain is highly visible in grayscale and instead of a smooth transition from black to white, there are several colors that come in different shades of gray.
Color Accuracy
The Epson ET-3760 has mediocre color accuracy. This shouldn’t be a problem for everyday printing, but it is not suitable for those who need more precise color accuracy.
Printing Size
The ET-3760 printer has an adjustable front input cassette that supports the most popular paper sizes.
Connectivity
EcoTank ET-3760 has outstanding connectivity features. You can connect it to your home network using an ethernet cable connection or via Wi-Fi via your router. If you prefer a wireless connection, you can also use Wi-Fi direct or if you are using a mobile device, Apple AirPrint or Mopria Print Service, which are great applications that let you quickly print, scan, or copy.
This printer does not offer a Bluetooth connection and there is no external storage support so you will not be able to print directly from your digital camera.
Mobile Print App
The printer supports the excellent Epson iPrint App. You can print, scan, and copy directly from the application and perform maintenance tasks such as nozzle checking or firmware updates from your mobile device.
