Epson EcoTank ET-2720 All-in-One Supertank Printer

EcoTank ET-2720 is an Epson All-In-One Printer from Epson for printing, scanning, and copying with cartridge-free EcoTank technology. This is a great addition to your home or small office.

The EcoTank system uses a large ink container instead of a cartridge, allowing it to hold more ink and make refills more affordable. The Epson ET-2720 also comes with enough ink for 4,500 black prints and 7500 color prints, enough for about two years’ printing.

Printing itself is also amazing, with a series of four-color inks and a resolution of 5760 x 1440 dpi contributing to its ability to make documents and imaging sharp and clear. Users who demand speed will be happy too with the ability to work up to 10.5 ppm in black and 5 ppm in color.

To work with most documents, a 100-sheet input tray is also available along with a long document mode that allows media production up to 8.5 x 47.2″. For scanning and copying, the 8.5 x 11.7″ flatbed can be used with resolution 1200 dpi optics.

In addition, for maximum versatility during setup, the Epson ET-2720 is also equipped with USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity, with support for many cellular printing protocols for the direct connection between your devices. Dimensions

ET-2720 is a lightweight and compact printer. Although the super tank is slightly prominent, the footprint is small enough for most home offices or student dormitories.

Build & Design Quality

This ET-2720 printer has a mediocre design. The user is very easy to access the ink tank and load paper. However, the output tray looks thin and if you have a paper jam, there is no rear access. There is a door below the display screen but it is difficult to get a paper jam if the user has a bigger hand. Devices also find it difficult to scan larger items such as books because the scanner lid cannot be extended to accommodate them.

Display Screen

EcoTank ET-2720 made by Epson has a mediocre screen. The console screen can rotate to allow you to see the screen better and have good visibility whether you sit or stand. Even though there is no touch screen, buttons surround the screen, but you might need to press it several times to get the command you are looking for.

Scanner

The Epson EcoTank ET-2720 has mediocre scanning features. They only have a flatbed scanner so documents must be scanned page by page and if your documents are two-sided, one side after another, which can be annoying if you need to scan multiple pages.

This printer also does not have a fax. The Epson ET-4760 is a printer similar to a sheetfed and fax scanner.

Cartridge

This Epson product has a very good super tank system. It uses four high capacity ink tanks that you refill yourself and produce many black and color pages before you need to refill the tanks again. There is also a pop-up message on the PC to periodically check your ink level, which is great if you are not watching your ink tank.

While it is technically possible to fill the super tank with third-party ink, we do not try it and do not recommend that you do so because low-quality inks can damage the print heads and, unlike ordinary cartridges, they cannot be removed if there are problems. And please note that using third-party ink can also void your warranty.

Printing Speed

This ET-2720 printer has poor printing speed. Although the first page doesn’t take too long to print, additional black text pages aren’t much faster. Color pages are slow to print and it takes almost one and a half minutes to print one 4″ x 6″ photo.

Cost Per Print

ET-2720 has an outstanding printing cost ratio. Black, color, and photo printing are all very cost-effective. If you need to refill the tank, you can buy a multipack ink package or each ink bottle separately.

Photo Printing Quality

The print quality of the ET-2720 photo is fine. There are a few color lines on grayscale and yellow lacks vigor.

Color Accuracy

The EcoTank ET-2720 has disappointing color accuracy. Although it might be good for occasional color bursts on work or work documents, it won’t be suitable for you who need accurate color from this type of Epson printer.

Printing Size

This Epson ET-2720 printer has one adjustable input feed on the back of the printer and it supports the most popular paper sizes.

Connectivity

EcoTank ET-2720 has excellent connectivity features. You can connect wirelessly using your Wi-Fi through a router or you can use Wi-Fi Direct. If you use a mobile device, you can also use Apple AirPrint or Mopria Print Services.

Mobile Print App

The Epson iPrint App is very good. This can be accessed through Android and iOS devices, you can print, scan, and copy photos and PDF files directly from the application. You can also do maintenance tasks.
