Brother MFC-L2710DW All-In-One Monochrome Laser Printer

Brother MFC-L2710DW All-In-One Monochrome Laser PrinterComing in a compact package with an attractive design, the MFC-L2710DW is an All-In-One Monochrome Laser Printer with wireless capabilities from Brother, which can easily find a place in a home or small office.

As an all-in-one unit, the Brother MFC-L2710DW has printing, scanning, copying, and fax functions, making it very easy for your small team to start and save space. With a maximum print resolution of 2400 x 600 dpi, the MFC-L2710DW ensures very detailed printouts, while the 250 sheet input tray and manual feed slot allow the use of media up to 8.5 x 14 inches in size.

The speed is also very good with the ability to reach up to 32 ppm and users can even do automatic duplex printing.

For other features, the MFC-L2710DW is also equipped with a 50-sheet ADF and an 8.5 x 11.7-inch flatbed with an optical resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi.

This configuration will capture fine details on your original documents and allow you to make sharp copies easily. Along with this capability, the printer also has a two-line monochrome LCD to check current status and has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity with support for cellular direct printing.

In addition, this printer has a USB 2.0 and Ethernet connection for configuration cables. Below are the results of our tests on the Brother MFC-L2710DW product and hopefully this will be taken into consideration before you decide to have it.

This type of brother product is a printer that is compact enough and easily fits into most small offices or rooms. This printer is tall, so additional permission is needed if you want to use the scanner. The complete dimensions are as follows:

  • Height: 12.4″ (31.5 cm)
  • Width: 16.2″ (41.1 cm)
  • Depth: 15.9″ (40.4 cm)
  • Weight: 25.6 lbs (11.6 kg)

Build & Design Quality

MFC-L2710DW is a printing machine that has an excellent design. The toner cartridge is easily accessible from the front, and even though the paper jam can only be removed from the back of the printer, you only need to open one panel to get access.

The scanner lid can be extended slightly if you need to scan thick documents or books. If you need to have better access to the output tray, the scanner tray can also be raised and remain open by yourself, so you don’t have to keep holding it. The entire printer feels sturdy, but the non-removable power cable makes it more difficult to replace if damaged.

Display Screen

MFC-L2710DW has a small monochrome display screen, a very poor two-line LCD. It’s also not touch-sensitive, so all navigation must be done using the buttons around it. Poor viewing angles, make it difficult to see if you are sitting or looking from the side, and there is no adjustment at all, tilt or turn.

Navigating the menus is quite easy, and the presence of a numeric board is convenient for typing in Wi-Fi passwords and such. There are also special buttons for the printer’s main functions: fax, scan, and copy.

The MFC-L2710DW cartridge system is very good. Because they can only print in black, there is only one black toner. This can produce a number of very respectable pages, which means you don’t need to replace them often. High yield cartridges are also available if you need more. The printer accepts third-party toner cartridges, but it should be noted that using them can invalidate the manufacturer’s warranty.

Having a flatbed and automatic document feeder for processing multi-page documents, the MFC-L2710DW has great scanning features. But unfortunately, it cannot do duplex scanning.

Note that when scanning with a flatbed, the default resolution is 1200 DPI, but when using the feeder, the resolution drops to 600 DPI. Also, when scanning with Brother’s iPrint & Scan on a PC, the default resolution is set to 300 DPI. To scan at a higher resolution, you must adjust it manually via the drop-down menu.

Printing Speed

The printing speed of this product is truly extraordinary. They only take a little longer to print the first page, but once warmed up, they can produce other pages very quickly.

Cost Per Print

The cost per print of the MFC-L2710DW is incredible and we recommend it if you are looking for a cheap print price. Toner cartridges are relatively inexpensive and last long because of high yields, so long-term costs remain low.

However, the drum is a separate unit and does not count towards the cost of the toner cartridge. The drum needs to be replaced approximately every 12,000 pages.

Photo Printing Quality

For photo print quality, the MFC-L2710DW has poor and terrible photo printing quality, which is expected from a monochrome laser printer. The pictures are rough and there are many transverse lines. Our test images are printed on 8.5″ x 11″ plain paper because the printer cannot print on glossy photo paper.

Printing Size

The MFC-L2710DW printer has a manual feed and a plain paper tray, and both can be accessed from the front. This paper tray supports most paper sizes up to standard legal sizes but does not support any photo paper.

Mobile Print App

As we have said, Brother iPrint & Scan mobile app is amazing. With this application, you can print, scan, or copy. You can even access printer settings to perform maintenance tasks.

This printer has great connectivity options. They support most wired and wireless connections, except for Bluetooth and external storage devices, such as USB thumb drives and SD cards.
